UNESCO Representative to Vietnam Christian Manhart had a working session with Ninh Binh's authorities on August 29 and 30 to inspect preparations for a ceremony celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage in the province.

Since Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex was recognised as World Cultural and Natural Heritage by UNESCO in 2014, Ninh Binh province has made a range of efforts in issuing policies and programmes in an attempt to preserve and promote the heritage's value in line with the World Heritage Convention.
